Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
ep, mine was tight, but just running it twice freed it up so that it then felt normal. That's very good to know. Thanks yellowdatsun. Unfortunately, I have had this build on hold for a while. My wife and I just bought our first home together, and we just put new tires on our vehicles. Next is gutte...

Re: 17.5T stock class racer build
I can't wait to hear how it does on the track! You might have to use a full size servo to bring the weight up. That, or maybe find some of those brass weights that mount in the grooves that are machined into the chassis.

Re: 17.5T stock class racer build
That's a really good esc/motor combo! Trackstar gear is top-notch stuff. They are grossly underestimated, imho. I had a Trackstar 150A esc and 6-pole 2650kV motor in an 8th scale buggy, and I was more impressed with that system than any other I've owned. I've had Tekin, Castle, and Novak, but the Tr...

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
I would build the trans and just run it hard to see if it loosens up. While you do that, order the new parts so you are ready to swap out if the trans doesn't free up. Thanks jwscab. I was actually just reading a few threads on this subject, and a few people 'just ran the car' and it really seemed ...

Impessive parts list Zac_F71. Thanks for the tip on trimming the custom chassis skin. I'll check it out on ebay. Much appreciated!

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
Ok, I received the idler and diff case from Associated today in the mail. They were the same WC parts that I received in the kit. I just finished installing the new parts, and there's no difference. I still feel a high spot in the rotation, and it feels notchy all the way around. Looks like I'll be ...

Re: 17.5T stock class racer build
Three grams shy...lead weight maybe up front? I think you lost those three grams from cutting out the battery tray. It serves it's purpose well though. Good job on a well thought out build! I like the custom auto-tape chassis skin. I'm thinking about trying that myself. Did you place it on the chass...

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
Well, I emailed Associated and Don told me the first thing to try regarding my notchy transmission, was to take the transmission out of the car and use a high-pressure air hose to spin up the transmission gears in one direction for two minutes, and then the other direction for two minutes. He said h...

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
You sound just like me. I build them up (slowly) as time and wallet permit. I waited a grueling seven months after my 8ight-E 3.0 build was completed to finally get all of the electronics, lipo. charger, and custom body. It's too pretty to beat up, and plus they didn't make the 3.0 for long. So it m...

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
I never drove a car with the A&L arm kit. Love them, have owned a few, but never drove one, LOL. You are no doubt a collector, lol. The trailing arm setup sure does look sweet though. I think you have to drill a couple of holes in the chassis to mount them if I'm not mistaken. Not sure I want t...

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
Thanks again for the info guys. Zac_F71, the track I plan on going to is red clay. It has tight sections and a high speed straight. Not sure if they do vintage races yet. I haven't been there in a while. Hopefully I can at least go practice on the weekends to have some fun. Should be fun either way.

Re: Fresh Worlds build and a few questions
Nice to meet you Joey! Yup, I'm following your thread on fb also, lol! I also have it saved on my desktop. Btw, how much do you know about the A&L trailing arm kits? Any drastic positive effects on handling? Just trying to learn all I can so I don't waste money on unnecessary stuff.

Re: 17.5T stock class racer build
Good looking build ZAC_F71! I like the big bores and spring setup a lot. Nice job on the batt tray also. It looks like you're heading in the right direction to be competitive.
