I would like to see some close ups of that transmission. It is pretty cool looking.

Re: Total beater build
WC rerelease transmissions are too tight and never turns smoothly when new. I've tried with good result a break-in method: put a little amount of polishing past on the gears and pin the spur gear at high speed with compressed air. http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2015/02/15//1502150434291723651296972...

Re: Total beater build
Last night we put together the transmission and the suspension arms. http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn28/bnz001974/DSCN0007_zpsbbio4mr3.jpg But there was a problem with the Stealth Transmission. I used all new parts from the WC manual and a B4 top shaft. But for some reason when I spin the top s...

Re: Total beater build
Unfortunately it is creased and dished. I hate that happened. But it is what it is. I may keep it to play with.
I would buy re-released tubes but it is a simple part and I have a metal lathe so it should be easy to make. If not I will buy one.

Re: Total beater build
Thursday night we are going to build a brand new Stealth Transmission. A used one could have been bought but I would have gone through it and replaced the gears and bearings anyways so I just bought all the parts. It cost just shy of $100. If I did not go with a Hot Racing VTS slipper conversion I c...

Re: Total beater build
So I tried fixing the "A" Stamp chassis to no avail. http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn28/bnz001974/DSCN0066_zpskgu7g7yb.jpg http://i300.photobucket.com/albums/nn28/bnz001974/DSCN0068_zpsetywy7ai.jpg In the end I ended up stretching the metal and making it dish shaped. Could not shrink ...

Re: ULTIMA RC10 CARBON CHASSIS
Let me ask a couple more questions. How thick is the chassis? I have a Team Associated graphite transmission brace #6593 and it is 0.1" (2.54mm) thick. How many layers of cloth does it take to achieve that? Have done fiberglass but am new to the carbon fiber.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: ULTIMA RC10 CARBON CHASSIS
Did you just get a carbon fiber sheet and bend it? Did you use something like a heat gun? you can't bend this stuff. Pretty sure Jerzi makes it from scratch with carbon fiber matting and all the fixings. Todd I did not think you could but I can be wrong and had to ask. You only need very good mold ...

Cool thanks. I had seen that in your thread but did not know if you had changed out the top shaft.

Sorry if this has already been asked. But can I change out the GT top shaft and replace it with a B4 topshaft (#9601)? Making a mid motor and would like to use the B4 topshaft and VTS slipper conversion.
