Re: Practicing some space themes on lexan

Woke up kind of excited to make art  Spraying Kyrlon clear polyurethane first and putting non polycarb paint colors over it makes cool effects. I’ll be testing the durability by bending different dried paints sandwiched between the urethane on the plastic. https://i.postimg.cc/1tQpXSzc/D00-CF53...

Practicing some space themes on lexan

I have a handful of bodies to paint. One or two I’m thinking of doing a space theme. Here is my first attempt. I just cannot seem to capture a good picture of it. It’s incredibly metallic. I threw a penny and a quarter on for my planets, and even though the paint bleed looks intentional, I’ll ...

New transmitter wheel for Sanwa

The tire on my wheel is rotted and just fell off. It’s an Airtronics/Sanwa MT-4. Can any one recommend a high quality replacement? The foam is really rotted and hard. **I don’t mind and think I would prefer if the wheel/tire was larger so I could control with one hand slightly easier then I do https...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

They had B4 shocks?! I bet you didn’t wanna sell em anyways. 🤦‍♂️ I bought some used blue ones on eBay yesterday. Going to have them reanodozed I think. I picked up all the remaining older AE shocks and springs they had left in the old bins stashed away behind the counter. I didn't go through...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Made a stop at the not-so-local HobbyTown to grab a couple parts for mAdMan, and ended up with a few others for myself. image000001 (7).jpg They had B4 shocks?! I bet you didn’t wanna sell em anyways. 🤦‍♂️ I bought some used blue ones on eBay yesterday. Going to have them reanodozed I think.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

I got what I believe has been the hardest part for me to find. Also in my honest opinion the single most important aftermarket part for a B4/T4. I break a lot of parts but the worst one to break even over the idler or a snapped CVD is a broken chassis at the kick up. Maybe it’s never happened to you...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

I found a new to me shop that’s been there for 14 years. So I had to patronize it. My son deserves a new body for his slash. G-dang those chassis are tough. I also picked up a 78 chevy body for my new sc10 build, deans connectors are so expensive now, and some body posts for the c10. https://i.posti...

Re: RC10GT2 + MAMBA MONSTER X + 2650Kv Castle 1512

Got this out today on 3s on my street. Got it to 60. I need to get 2 more good 2s saddle packs. The foam tires really don’t last long. This car’s high speed rear end manners are horrendous. Bumps kick the rear end up hard. Any amount of decent steering input sends her sideways at speed even with D/R...

I swear that is the same exact driver in my Kyosho Scorpion. Or maybe I’m just crossing a Scorpion and a 10b driver in my mind. Cool early stuff you have there

Re: Who remembers the Chrysler Turbine car?

I do not understand a turbine driving wheels therefore it is voodoo and I am afraid of the technology. Joking. In lighter news my 1996 XJ just lost cylinder 1-2. Took me home another 37 miles after it did on 3-4-5-6. I tested the spark plug wires with a spare plug. They have spark. The fuel fi...

Re: Super Clod build with a few mods

I have some advice for 4 wheel steering. I left the advice for Kavin Talbot on YouTube, not sure if he will ever read it. He has a pair of huge RC monster trucks. He added 4 wheel steer to one and at speed it becomes completely uncontrollable. The rear wheels shake around. This is because his rear w...

Re: Best chemicals / methods for stripping paint from old bodies.

Hey all, I picked up a High Rider II Corvette that came in a box with miscellaneous parts for a ridiculously good price. Going through, I think it is complete. I was going to use it as runner for my kids but it in in really good shape. Even the body is good with very minor scratches, some trimming ...

Re: Spray Paint types for Lexan

I use poly acrylic spray paint. Its cheap and found all over. I also back with the cheapest white I have laying around. Poly paint first and the white doesn't crack. Don't have to buy expensive white. Just spray white before the poly colors cure. If you use an acrylic clear first you can put any pai...
