Honestly with the lowering, especially for an edm body, I like the stock CE front tower, and then just cutting down the rear tower for .71 rear shocks. that was what I used to do on my cars and IMHO it worked the best.

I've never used the JG kit, but I remember the rear tower looking similar, and in my experience the shocks on the McAllister kit are way too digressive in the front making the car very unbalanced (you have to run so my RF spring the car inevitably pushes all the time, and if you soften it to the point it will turn, then it just falls over on the RF and unloads the LF, either making the LR spool up on corner exit, or if your diff is tight, making the RR drive too hard causing a loose condition) Speaking of, diff setting on an RC10 based D.O. car is very sensitive, you can really use it to your advantage as a tuning tool, controlling how the car exits the corner from the center off.

that makes sense about the shock angle, the more horizontal they are the more they just act like tie bars and don't do a whole lot of dampening. i may just save that kit for a funky creation down the road.

gathering parts for the ce:

white rpm rear body mount
extra set of top load gold .71's
.125 cw wheel spacers

still trying to pick a body, probably will end up with kipp's rc10 body kit.

i've got a spare stock ce rear shock tower that i'm going to cut down.
trying to decide what chassis to use, gold or black, i'm thinking gold for old times sake.

I have the RPM body mount in white, and can knock out a shell for that car too if you need-

i do need a couple of white body posts though.

on the body, i'm still not sure what the "flopper" looks like.

the shell, i have no idea what a flopper looks like.

i kind of want my rc10 edm to look like the edm's we raced bitd.

also, whats proper d/o body etiquite? i mean all the edm's i see are painted like real racers, never see anything funky.
would i get weird looks if i painted up an edm to look like my race buggies? (kinda cliff lett inspired cow print)

A flopper looks like a GTP group 7 slotcar shell.........with a "roof". But I can make a version with the silly rare CDK .015 "Fred special" roof too-

paint it up any way you want. speaking of the lett inspired cow print, my '93 edm...... minus the spots.

reg, the flopper doesn't look like an edm then? i googled GTP group 7 and they are onroaders, like the famous nissan. (also a weird bj pic came up in the image search lol)
i think i want a traditional edm.

Reg, did you build that body from scratch?

Are the dirt oval cars that run late model bodies nowadays set up the same/similar on chassis setups as the EDMs?

I ran mostly dirt oval in my youth, but all of the cars were mostly stock buggy form. Just when I thought I was done building RC10s... I have a real urge to build an 80's winged wedge car.
