Wow! This a gret build  I'd love to switch to cv axles for mine too... Are those Avante ones still available? Any other Tamiya ones compatible? Or Maybe Kyoshos?

hi there, I've only found the Avante to fit, but i really didn't try many others, the Kyosho Lazers or Optimas didn't fit, as for locating some more, if you find them they won't be cheap i believe.

hi guys

Heres some more pictures of the build, need to order another drive belt, the first on was too short, the next one was too long, hopefully 3rd time lucky, other than that, the build is coming along well, also waiting on my RC10 slipper set up to come from the bay, Tony (Dirt oval) helped with the lay shaft, he is also sending me a motor heak sink, Alex (Incredible Serious) helped with the wheels, i reckon they look great, might give them a coat of flat black paint,
I've got a original uncut Boost body set that i've made a female mould of, now i need to make the male mould and make some repro body sets, hopefully have some bodies in the next couple of months. I'll post some more photos in the coming weeks with the motor and speedy in it and hopefully running.

cheers Bullfrog

Nice! you should be getting your stuff soon. just slip the bushing on the shaft and press the back slipper plate on after you cut it down and it should set in far enough to let your body fit. your gonna have a real head turner :D

Surely not... the stock ones did not look like those. These are modern...

yeah, it's hard to see. I know what the stockers look like, and through the springs, it looks like they could be. the tops are hard to tell if they are a hex, smooth, or ridged like the stockers. So I didn't think they were, but it's hard to see. It also looks like the spring adjusters might be threaded, which the stockers definitely were not.

sweet build fo' sho'

are you using the avante CVDs on front and back?

Oh, I also wanted to get info on the pulleys and belt. where did you get them? any specs?

Are you using the one way hubs up front? doesn't look like it, but they might not be on the boost, just the radiant, I don't know they history of the cars that well, as they are so similar it gets confusing.

hi guys,

shocks are 3 Racing, not bad shock for the money paid, seen to work well. Yes i will be using Avante CVD's in the front and rear Avante dog bones, the pullleys and belts were brought from a supplier of mine in Australia, I work for a Bearing wholesalers and i was able to source these from them, they are a wholesaler as well. Pulleys and belts are MXL pitch, they main pulleys are 40 teeth, the drive pulley is 18 teeth, the guild is 20 teeth, belts used are still in process of finding the correct ones, once i work out the drive belt i'll let you know.
I am not running a one way in the front at the moment, i'm trying to work something out for it, hopefully i'll have something soon

cheers Bullfrog

Rob you realy are doing a brilliant job on this car. Your patience and determination is paying off. Ive driven my Boost and was realy impressed with the cars handleing and jumping characteristics. Even with the original chain drive I was pushing my car around the race track pretty hard with a sweet 12 turn motor. You'll be smiling from ear to ear when you finaly have this car running. Keep up the good work and i hope to see you running it when i come down in November for the enduro. :D

Hi Rob. I wanted to come back to this build of yours as it was definitely headed in a great direction. Did you ever get around to driving this car? I'm hoping to get back into mine shortly and see how it goes on the track.

Hi all, this one has been along time coming, finally just about ready, I've changed the whole chassis to carbon fibre, gone back to chain drive, using Kyosho Optima diffs, Avante UJ's and steering, Kyosho Lazer ZX5 rims, ran it a few times, nice and smooth, also Vac formed a bottom tray as well. Need to finish the rear wing, then out to the track.

Looking wonderful, but you really need a wing for a runner.
It will render the car far more stable in the straights and does wonders keeping the car from rolling when jumping.
