As I'm building one of these up at the moment, I thought I'd include the article that I drooled over back in '93.... I'd only recently got my Schumacher Nitro 10, and this thing was released..... now 15 years later, I'm putting one together from mostly new parts.

I'll be putting some progress photos up soon, as well as some parts requests..... but if anyone out there has any Daytona parts, please let me know!!!

Spurred on by one of my RC mates, I decided to revisit this particular project.... the Schumacher Daytona. This is a 1:10 scale nitro pan car, produced in 1992/3. Being the smart people they were, Schumacher made their own chassis, added the .15...

Here's a scan of the Daytona's attempt at setting a lap record around Silverstone with an rc car.

Has anything like this ever been attempted elsewhere since? Looks like it would be a tough job driving an rc car from a moving 1:1 car :D...

I am sure this board has some pretty smart people on it so I have a question.

In last night's Daytona 500 we saw the jet dryer catch fire and all the jet fuel burn.
So my question is ...is it possible to use diesel fuel instead of jet fuel and...

Ok, I've just booked tickets for me and the wife to see the Gatorade Duel on Feb 17th at the Daytona Speedway ( ). Persuading the wife wasn't too difficult as she's quite up for doing different things when abroad and Daytona definitely seems part of...
