thought i might as well post this here since its getting close to finished .
started as a basket case i posted about here years ago . my youngest (7) wanted his own car so i got to work . need to order a body and and do a final tear down and clean of all the og parts ,then he gets to build it himself

i made this printed frankenrustler in 2013 it still is complete and runs and the only part that was broken is the front bumper . it was printed in pla . this new one is printed in abs and petg .i dont see it breaking any more than any other modern plastic car ,i will most likely go back to og shock towers as these have a little flex (or i may beef up the file and add dome extra mount points or reinforcing gussets

thanks . i cant take credit for the work though . i bought out a local guys collection and he had 5 or 6 of these pre painted bodies all brand new

to keep things fair im building one for myself so i can run right along side my 7yr old
i printed my chassis with some revisions . adding a spot to run the wires under the battery tray ,and removing the standoffs in favor of a velcro strap for the battery

i did however mess up on slicing and my infill was at 5% soooo about to find out how little infill is too little on an rc chassis (rear plate is still 100% infill)

got both buggies built and ready to run hopefully we have some nice weather this weekend and we can race them on our back yard track

i will get some vids when we get a chance to run them (its not been used all winter so just looks like a muddy grass pit right now lol

it was my grandfathers . not sure if its from his time owning a service station , or if they gifted it to him when he left land sharp chevy to go work for modot
