Hi there,
It’s been a while since i started a new project again, but…. Something has drawn me back into my garage to start getting out the pencil, hacksaw, file and dremel!

In January 2024 we have a indoor vintage race in the Netherlands.
“Southern Indoor Masters Supercross” is in REAL deep hardcore sand!

This made me think, as we drive most on carpet or Astro nowadays I actually don’t have a suitable car for this circumstances… it looks a lot like Detroit 91!!

So, i went wild this time again…

Took an old alloy chassis, cut the sides, and created a topdeck of GR10 Epoxy sheet.
Used my stencil for the MIX21’ front shocktower, and created the front and rear towers by hand, as the 91” inspired rear bulkhead as well.

Also made an alloy brace in the front, created an 8 bearing steering lever, with a GR10 ackerman plate, with a more aggressive extra position.

I use a Club10 diff, because it has gears, and a much tougher inner diff, which i used alloy inner parts for, and asked a friend to rework a KF layshaft on a Lathe to fit a slipper on her.

The main goal was, a light Cougar, but as strong as a modern buggy!
I wanted to stay under 1400grams, just as a goal.
In the end, after using all titanium bolts, and alloy nuts, simple lightweight electronics etc… it ended up to be 1435 grams… that will do!

The diff is done, and some more work finalized…

Almost there.. still need to work on some details and waiting for an lexan undertray which we are crating now.

I'm not a schumacher guy but this makes me want one a little bit more.

These last finishes took ages… but, finaly the Dirt Digger is ready!

I have let someone produce locally an undertray for the Cougars, and finished it with a simple paintjob.
This will make sure no dirt will be collected entering the inside of the car.


It can be a great option for the MSP RC accessories CF chassis!!

Also made a funny/easy fix for the Slipper nut, with a quick twist, the slipper can be adjusted, and also covered up again.
