I have a 89 worlds conversion kit that I got from Fan RC that I am using on it, most of it fits after I re-drilled the chassis using the new one as a template. if you go this route make sure you have a dremel tool! it isn't pretty but who cares since this car has undertray

the dogbone length is funky, normally the kit uses the 422 length which is too long for the re-re diffs so I ordered a set of 421s.
I like what youve done. Does the shock towers fit without any trimming? Are the screw pattern identical on rere vs "original"?

Got mine in last week. It’s such an efficient build compared to Tamiya. Little nerve racking having the exact number of screws and eclips etc.
Loving the 89 conversions. @gomachv is that chassis brace available on factory works and will it work and the standard re chassis? Is that a turnigy servo? Seems the servo arm and 20mm is a bit long what length did you shorten to dial in the steering?
For a shock swap what lengths are you running?

Can’t wait to get this out thing out

It's the Protech version. I think Boki or Sabulatech repops them. Here's mine.

Are there tire options for these besides the big pin tires? Will modern buggy tires fit on the kit wheels?

Jc racing makes wheels that fit this car and are 2.2" so you can run modern tires.

We had a vintage race recently on a fairly aggressive track and a guy ran his new rerelease and broke an arm. Not sure if it was a super hard hit or if the plastic isn't the greatest so use caution on these guys.

Oh dang. By the looks of Amain, it doesn't seem like parts support is high priority for these.

Which is a bummer, I bought a set of wheels from RC Mart (on eBay) but looking at their website there appears to be wide part support in Asia for this car: https://www.rcmart.com/product-search?search=YZ-870C&limit=60

It would be awesome if Amain (being the US Yokomo distributor) would stock those parts, and they would sell a ton.

I had to grind the rear tower a bit to clear the sway bar, the front was fine. I did drill new holes for the camber links since I was playing around with different lengths and angles. The holes for the shocks were fine but I drilled new ones for the wing mounts. I didn't bother with the kit shocks, I just put the AE style ones one.

Are these chassis set available from Factory Works? I dont see it on your website or Ebay. Id rather just convert it to match my already done 89 Masami.
