The KC was my first hobby grade RC car and I've been recently trying to find one that wouldn't kill my wallet, I managed to score this one locally for a good price. Overall its looks pretty good, guy told me its been in storage for a couple decades, I'll be cleaning it up and getting a new body for it. I forgot how thin these original bodies were.

Looks real clean. It should make for a great restoration. I did a Monster Racer a couple of years ago and it turned out good as new.

Definitely going do to box art. I personally think its the best looking one. I took it apart last night, has a small crack on the back of the chassis, but i should be able to repair it easily. Everything is is extremely clean, some light scratches on the bottom. The servos and motor look brand new "circa early 90s", lol. I might be more excited for this build than any of my other growing projects.

I'm not even going to bother trying to save the original body. I ordered a new one. I need to find a decal set for it, I saw one on Ebay but they wanted 100 bucks for it. lol

Well, that was easy, lol. And now suddenly I'm spending a hundred bucks on decals for all my new projects I've picked up recently.

I just picked one up as well but the frame is kinda beat. The area where the rear body posts mount is cracking near the chassis so Im gonna fab up some support so I can get it built up.
Did you find another body for yours? If so can ya tell me where you sourced it?

Hey Rider400, while we're waiting for Raven519 to reply, I thought I go ahead and tell you that TBG has the KC body:

I found it when I ordered the Hilux Monster Racer body - the KC's twin.
Best of luck with your restoration. :D

Hey Rider,

Sorry for the delay, life has been hectic for me lately due to a house renovation so I haven't logged on for awhile. If you have a facebook account, join vintage tamiya groups, Parts occasionally pop up for these, I think there is a relatively recent post with a chassis and some misc parts with it.

As for the body, I got it off of ebay from team blue groove. Thanks XLR8 for the assist on this.
