Right... this is going to be my first topic here!
As you see in the topics name.. you all probably see where this will go to.
This project started somewhere in September 2020.
A friend, (Marshky) helped me with the CAD designs, and others supported me with with all the options and advices i needed to complete this job.
As for now, i am finishing on the details, waiting to get new parts coming in, and measuring al lot with the Caliper (a lot!! Haha).

I the end, the idea is to create a full kit, to build your own Cougar MID car! A full kit with all carbon/plastics/screws/bearings what you’ll need. You only need to use the Cougar transmission and suspension parts!
It won’t be cheap, but if there is enough interest.. it will get less expensive.

So, you all have to wait some time before the first pictures show up here.. but, they are coming... (end of January!?) ☺️👍🏼!

Any questions, just let me know.. regards Dirk.

Getting the transmission on, building the rear shock tower and placed them on the chassis.
(Rear tower will be adjusted, needs a new design).

Mounted the new front shocktower.
4mm carbon, and fully adjusted so it will fit the original (U322) front plate too.

Just a minor little detail on the Sunday afternoon...

My friend Marshky came up with an idea when CAD designing the front end (which other brands do..).
Put some holes in the Ackerman, and brace, make a reference hole in the tower... so you can easily set up the middlepoint of the steering.

Smart, easy, simple!

Some tiny updates in between today.

Mounted the waterfall motor guard. This was was needed to stabilize the motorplate. And just looks really nice!

Also mounted the battery straps.
And put the servo in place (the most thight-spot-on-fit ever!)

Rebuild the Vari-shocks.

The shocks have been re-anodized, so that all aluminum parts on the build have the same color.
Used the Muzzoom Models Motorsport teflon pistons (2 holes).
All new seals, and new shock shafts.
Went for the bigbore springs on this one, and they look pretty cool i must say!

Right... this is something i always wanted back in the day...
Double bearings in the front hubs!!

I used all standard Schumacher parts for this piece of long thinking-engineering... haha.
Not sure how it will work when racing, but i like the feel how it came out.

10mm alloy castle axles
2 bearings
Squeezed a 3mm o-ring in the wheels
Milled a stainless axle shaft to fit the 10mm caste axles
Used a washer to get rid of the play

In the end, it feels very solid, and no play left.
When testing we will see how it works! Haha.

Today finally the postman arrived with the new designed rear shocktower!

So, mounted it, and finished almost the whole rear end.

Together with the carbon milled washer plate, the whole rear bulkhead, and carbon shock tower is realy solid. Pretty happy about how it came out, plus the way it looks.

The Schumacher wingmounts are positioned as low as possible, to create a really streamlined appearance.

Fitted the rear shocks, and all fits nicely!
What do you all think?

That thing would compete with anything made today! F
