As long as it's not beat to death, it should be fine. Check the edges to make sure the layers aren't seperating from hits. If you run a bead of CA along the edge of cf parts, it will protect the sides much better. Like along the full edge of chassis plates, and along the tops of shock towers where they would hit the ground in a roll over.

I have no idea what you're asking in the first part of your question.

I have no experience with graphite chassis so I'm kinda curious too. As I recall there were at least 4 or 5 companies making graphite chassis for the RC10. I wonder if there's any difference between manufacturers or if graphite is graphite.

Post by oneyedog »

Hey well what i ask is, if the chassis is borke or cracked what do you do, just cut it up to make clod esc plates ? i git a lot of pan cars to cut up to make esc plates. so there is no way to fix a broke chassis or can you :?:

I don't think you can. Unless it's just broke on the side, where you can just cut off the busted section and use the rest. But, scrap carbon fiber is always nice to have around, to make other parts out of.

REDEYE, depends on what is broken. In the day when I was racing most every day of the week a couple of my chassis were beat up until some serious damage was noticed. If the fiber was becoming unwoven I'd cut back till I was back to fresh undisturbed material. Than make a patch out of fiber-glas and epoxy resin. Install the patch and let it cure. than you need to finish it off, layout any holes needed(helps to have a mock up chassis layed out from the original)finish the repair and your in business again. I've had good results over the years and being as cheap as I am it was better than buying a new chassis.
Hope this helps, any questions mail me and we'll see what can be done,
GRIZZLY
IT'S BEEN A LONG, HARD ROAD. I HAVE RISEN FROM THE ASHES.
