Anyone try making their own stickers?

I would like to make some custom "B1M" stickers for my mid motor RC10 project (see link in signature if you haven't seen it). Anyone try printing stickers on inkjet sticker paper? I see Avery has full sheet inkjet sticker paper in white and clear. On Amazon, the white got really good reviews at least. I realize they probably aren't waterproof, but I never drive my RC cars in the rain or through the car wash anyway :P
We have color laser printers at work, that would maybe be more durable as far as smearing etc.
Anyone try anything like this?

Slightly in relation to what you're asking. You could always print your sticker and add a protective layer of clear packing tape over it to protect the ink from rubbing off. Then trim and apply. Of course your stickers will be thick but its a thought.

This "GT" is a piece of paper with the thin double stick tape applied to the back and clear packing tape on the front. If you have a good printer you could just do this as well and not even worry about the sticker paper stuff. Or at least test run off some sizes for trial and error

That's a great idea, I hadn't even thought about the double-sided scotch tape. Hmmm, this may be a good little project for this weekend

Here's what I did to make my own Buick Grand National stickers to dress up a 1:12 Monte Carlo body to mimic a GN.

-Papilio Inket Waterproof Adhesive Vinyl sticker paper

-Design and scale your own stickers to properly fit your body

-You rinse off the printed stickers a few minutes after printing, to remove the excess ink. The results should be waterproof. However, it's recommended to spray their "fixative" spray, but it's basically the same thing as Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear, or any other similar automative clearcoat. Spray a couple coats on the printed sheet before X-Acto'ing the stickers and applying to your body.

Some results here:
