My first Lexan Body

Here's my first attempt at a new body for my RC10T. The guys at the hobby shop said they dont make flat paint for lexan bodies. So I painted on the outside to get it as flat as possible. I know the paint to get jacked up but I dont care. I washed the body really good to get the oils off and removed the layer of film before painting. Know that this ride is made for some major bashing and will get worked very soon. My original body (other post- Red, White & Blue Nissan) was really old and falling apart. I look forward to testing out my new RPM basher bumper and seeing how this body with stand up to some thrashing. I didnt realize how hard it is to find parts for the 10T and almost feel like keeping off the dirt. But I thought hey what the heck. Its made for some serious fun. Especially after the stuff I've put it through before finding out how rare parts are. For example, launching off 5 foot dirt cliffs, construction zone graded jumps, major flips (5+ rolls) back to back to back. And most recently my favorite was going muddin. I've had so much fun so far. And I now understand the word Hobby, since I put in about 10+ hours on this body. Most of the decals are my own customs. The time is takes to plan it, do it and everthing involved gives me a new appreciation for the other rides I see that are way cooler than mine. And I give you all major props. I look forward to getting into this alot more. It's way attictive and I have an attictive personality to boot. This website rocks. And I was getting frustrated yesterday because I couldnt upload due to that 403 forbidden error code. But its all good now. Check it out.

That is very cool!!! Which body did you use? I like the army theme great job for a first one.

So tell me the secret howd you get it to fit?? That would be a perfect body for me to throw on for some bashing without destroying the T2 shell I have that is brand friggn new

Your truck looks awesome, I love the drab/military theme, very cool.

For future reference, if you paint the outside of the body it may help to scuff it up with a Scotch-Brite pad or some fine steel wool first. It should give you better adhesion so the paint won't chip as easily. Another thing I thought of while I was looking at your truck, I wonder if you could mount the rear shocks behind the tower so they could tuck into the body better? My 10t is in pieces so I can't check, but it seems like there would be enough room?

The way I made the body fit was to place the front mounting holes at an angle on the hood. Thats why my clips are not securing the front of the body traditionally. Only half of the clips are being used to hold down the body thats why I am using heavier gauge clips up front. The rear is a close fit too. The rear shock tower and the length of the body didnt allow much room. So I placed them as close to the shock towers as possible. This allowed for the rear end to hang just where I wanted it. Not too short or too long in the back.

The rear shocks barley fit snug all the way up in the body more towards the front of the space allowed by the lexan body. Believe me I thought of all kinds of ways to mod it. Again I got Lucky.

Still havent ran it. Kinda dont have the heart yet to thrash it up. I was looking at these trucks called E-Maxx and they look like good basher trucks. I guess the RC10T would be considered more of a racer than a basher, right ?
