Preventing an RC10T3 from literally flying off the ground...

Post by natob2 »

I have completed a total restoration of a RC10T3 Team Truck. This includes a lipo setup running a 13T EZRun brushless. It's awesome. I feel like the truck is well tuned and it's super fast and incredibly fun.

The problem I'm having is keeping it planted on the ground. It literally picks off the ground when I drive it. I know the pinion gear can change this up, as will using battery spacers in terms of shifting the battery forward in the truck, but any other ideas on ways to keep the front wheels planted? Something like small weights up front? What kind of weights, how much weight and where best to place them?

As fun as it is to see the truck do a lot of air time with epic wipe outs, I'm just destroying my Lexan bodies.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You can 2-way tape ballast weights inside the front bulkhead, that's the best place to put them. Maybe 1 or 2 oz? Shifting the battery forward helps, same goes with letting the clutch slip a little. If none of that works well enough, change gearing. Hope this helps some.
