Will these be added to this section since they are now vintage ???? I think they are up to the TC6...

I don't know if they'd ever be considered "vintage". My TC4 found new life on the dirt oval (super truck class)....10.5 motor, foam tires and NASCAR truck body.

Tc3 came out in 98-99 i believe thats coming up on 15 years old. Everyone at my track calls my tc3 a relic and i get free old parts from everyone when they find old tc3 stuff cause we all know that if u raced back in those days EVERYONE had a tc3 at one point or another. Without it touring cars would not be what it is today. That makes it atleast a classic in my eyes. I'll keep running mine till i run out of parts.

I'll throw 'doubtfully' out there and see how it sets...

If the TC3/NTC3 were "relics", I doubt they'd be so heavily supported in the aftermarket.

You hear that about a lot of the vintage stuff, right up until you spank the brand new kit junior is running. I show up at the track with my old RC10GTs, and nobody pays them much attention..........at least not until I come out of the corner, catch up to and go screaming by that brushless Revo or Slash.

Last time I was out, there was a fellow running his Losi 8ight 2.0 with an OS .28XZ. It was very respectable, but you can imagine how surprised he was that, despite my 2wd traction handicap, I was able to pass him on every straight away, even though I fell behind in the corners. And that's just a little HPI .18 in a black tub chassis (one that can run almost 50 MPH and pull wheelies up to ~20 MPH, though)

Older ("vintage")? Yup. Slow? Not hardly. New stuff comes out because people will only buy the same old kit for so long/so many times. Doesn't necessarily mean the performance will be better. Cheaper built is almost guaranteed, though.

As for TC3/NTC3/TC4 getting a spot in our vintage section, well, I'd like it because we'd be able to discuss them here, but I don't consider them vintage at all.

Since I still use my TC3 in the local VTA class and the TC4 is still availible, AND I can get parts relatively easy for both, I'm gonna say no .

I would say the first gen team TC3 is near being vintage but not the tc4 as you can still buy it!

I’m thinking the TC4 is a no go. As said above, the first gen TC3 could be a candidate. Of course, time will tell...

At this point all you have to do is go to ebay to get the latest and greatest vintage RC10b69 so call them what you want...I still like them.

Just picked up another pile of parts and roller pretty cheap last week again for the rc10tc3 so I can covert it to a dirt oval truck

I love the tc3! Here's some of my old and current ones...

I'm actually trying to find the first one that I built in 2004ish and it was sold on eBay around 2010....

If a B3 is vintage, the TC3 is.

Remember, not that long ago you could buy RC10 cars for dirt cheap.

I was AWOL from the RC hobby during that time so I missed the whole touring car era. I'm playing catchup.

Well, here we are another three years down the road since the last post. I just finished a total overhaul of my TC3 and nearly all of the parts I wanted to replace are discontinued by AE. eBay had some of them but some are simply NLA. So I would say that now, eleven years after this thread was started, we can say that the TC3/4 are indeed vintage.
