Any RC18 Forums or Fans?

Post by hardenedways »

I'm seriously considering adding an RC18 to my collection. (buggy or truck)
I just think these are super cool. Tiny and 4wd sounds like a lot of fun.
I'd like to hear from other people who have these. I'm wondering if I should get a new one or get one off eBay. Buggy or truck? What hop-ups/upgrades should I get right away? And other basic stuff.

Thanks for your help!!

Ya those RC18's are pretty sweet. I just won an RC18b on ebay cheep, but as for hop up's I had the same questions and found that there are all types of forums you can check out. Try this one: http://www.one18th.com
Good luck

I have an 18T, it's a very fun little truck! I picked mine up from a local racer, got it for $90, it's like new and came with a bunch of extra stuff. The first thing you should get is outdrive sleeves. Associated and bunch of other companies make them, but I just got some 5/16" compression fittings from my local hardware store for $.09 a peice. Even with the stock motor the outdrives will start to spread after only a few runs, the compression fittings take care of that. I haven't got them yet, but aluminum shocks are next on the list, the stockers are junk. Then I'm getting an aluminum steering kit because the stock steering has WAY too much slop.
