Hmm, thats cool. Do you know if they are Re-Re's or just old stock? I saw this part "3.7 to 7.4V usage with proper gearing (Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, or Li-Po)" but nothing more to indicate a re-release?

Re: Trinity Speed Gems Brushed Rerelease!
They look a little different to me besides the label, not entirely sure though.
I'm aware the older versions had endbell melting issues, I wonder if they changed the endbell to something else?
What is wierd is it says out of stock but it lets me add to my cart? I'm confused

Here's a couple of the originals I still have around, different specs for sure.

I hope they are re-re. The brushed motor is the sexiest thing in all of r/c IMHO. I'm quite certain it will never completely die in my lifetime as long as ebay and sites like this are around.

Looking at them again... I do see some differences. As for the endbell I'm guessing plastic though I'd like to see more photos or reviews but maybe these are too new at this point and with the brushless migration taking place there's nothing. I'd like to get my hands on a 16 or 17t and see what happens.

They're definitely plastic end bells, but that's fine with me. Metal end bells are awesome, but I never owned any when I was younger. Way outta my reach back then.

I wonder if they come in a hard plastic bubble pack or bag? If it's hard plastic I'll order at least 2. Anyone know by chance?

I wish they looked just like the old ones with the old decals and colored endbells.

Re: Trinity Speed Gems Brushed Rerelease!
Cool - that takes me back - the Onyx was one of my first proper modified motors. IIRC they were the budget range from Trinity being machine wound rather than by hand.... but I remember the windings on my particular motor were very neat & had very minimal drill/balancing holes so I suggest that I wouldn't have got alot more performance for my money if i'd spent the extra cash on a 'full-blown' modified?Beatnik wrote:Here's a couple of the originals I still have around, different specs for sure.
Curious as to why Trinity would see the need to offer brushed motors in their line-up given its probably only us old-skoolers that would be tempted to buy one 'for old times sake'... I do suppose if you have an old brushed ESC & just want to get a bit more 'poke' in your basher car - these might be the quick & easy option?
Edit; Seems the winds are different old Vs new e.g old Onyx was a 14double the new one is a 17double?
