My ebay RoadRunner
Wish I had before pics. I got it for $44 bucks, sold the esc and receiver for $35. So with shipping I have about $19 in the car. Cleaned it up, the transmission was perfect hardly showed any wear. Had to replace the rear hub carrier bearings. Mounted up some traxxas anacondas on Duratrax Evader BX wheels. Installed a traxxas link 2.4ghz reciever, castle sidewinder ESC, Tacon 2950kv brushless motor. The steering was messed up and I had a brand new RC10DS steering, so I put that in. And painted up a body. I haven't had an RC10 runner in a long time I forgot how fun they are to drive. Add brusheless power and rolling wheelies are something new to me. I got the paint idea from a guy on this forum. Hope he doesn't mind.

I's actually a black case Stealth. I'm not sure if this car came with all black plastic or if was dyed. I think it was a later champ car, so it probably came black. Eventually I'd like to get a better set of turnbuckles and cups for it and find a chassis that doesn't have switch holes cut into it. I wouldn't care how scratched up as long as it was straight and a "B" or "C" stamp chassis. Just ordered a b4.1 slipper for it.muck wrote:very nice,

Nice work, I usually do the opposite, buy it for $44, spend $35 to get additional parts, $19 on the 2nd order for the parts I forgot the 1st go around, $100 for the "must" have addtional parts for a grand total of TOO MUCH and tell the wife I have $19 into the car as it sits in the closet

They do work pretty well. Don't have to 'heat' em up to get traction.

Re: My ebay RoadRunner
I actually have more than that in it. But the car I started out with only cost me $19 That is a lot better starting point then $75 or $100. some of the stuff I had, some I had to buy. Tried to keep the price low. The most expensive part was the ESC. The grand total still came out pretty reasonable for a lipo brushless 2.4ghz car.RCveteran wrote:Nice work, I usually do the opposite, buy it for $44, spend $35 to get additional parts, $19 on the 2nd order for the parts I forgot the 1st go around, $100 for the "must" have addtional parts for a grand total of TOO MUCH and tell the wife I have $19 into the car as it sits in the closet

Re: My ebay RoadRunner
Duratrax Evader BX I had to change out the front bearings (non flanged left overs from my XXXT) Got the wheels for like 4 bucks a pair. I've been reading there not the greatest but I couldn't find anything else. Had to drill out the back of the rear wheels to fit the axles. Not ideal but they don't wobble.
