My forever tuber crawler build

Post by badhoopty »

I wanted a real cool scale version of the poison spyder customs bruiser 1:1.

So I made one.

I still need to paint it. pretty much done otherwise.

Awesome look rig you got there. Did you buy the tube chassis or did you make it from scratch. If you made it from scratch, could you tell us what method you use in welding the cage together. I was thinking about making my own rig but I am still learning how to braze...so it's gonna take me some time to get it going here.

its brazed. i made it. its got a little stainless steel, some steel rod, and some steel brakeline tubing.

i used harris safety silv brazing wire (safety silv 50 & 45) and harris safety silv flux.

brazed most with a simple mapp bottle torch. the smaller/tighter stuff with a home depot o2/mapp kit.

Great work, Hoopty! I have to get a crawler one of these days.

Hey, shouldn't this post be in the RC10 Truck Forum? It has a GT tranny after all.
