My new play toy Honda Odyssey

Post by shodog »

No not the no talent a$$ clown minivan, this is the sweet little one seater off road buggy. My son was having a blast driving it around the neighborhood.

It needs a bit of reconditioning but I'll bring it up to snuff.

Wow, I always wanted a Honda Odyssey too.

For a couple of years, Honda also made a cool motorcycle with ATV tires. I think it was called the Big Wheel. I believe it was underpowered but ugly/cool as h*ll!

Cool Odyssey shodog!
We used to have a Odyssey way back, it too was a 350cc. That thing was wicked fun!

EDITED: dirtdiver - I checked with my parents to confirm, in fact it was called the "Fat Cat". I don't know where I got "Big Red" from...getting old sucks.....

"Big Red" was the ATC 3-wheeler

the "Fat Cat" was the big tire motorcycle.

I have a picture of it somewhere but the one we had was named "Big Red". Not redone or anything and it wasn't the only in the area that was called that.

Thats right the "Big Wheel" was by Yamaha and the "Fat Cat" by Honda. Both were under powered but someone sold a conversion kit for the "Fat Cat" where you could put a 250R motor in it.

as with anything, it turns into more work than expected. I wondered why the brakes sucked. turns out the rear caliper was siezed then once I get that fixed, the master cylinder isn't working. So i got a rebuild kit on the way and after talking to the Odyssey expert, I picked up a few more things so $200 later i'll be getting a package to make that baby sing.

Interesting, I've never seen a big red bike . . . If you find that pic, I'd love to see it.

There was a company that made bike conversion kits for Big Red ATCs back in the day.

I still have an ATC70 in great shape that my parents bought new for me in 1985, will probably keep it forever.

Awesome Odyssey, Shodog. Looks like fun!

Halgar you would hurt yourself on one of those. Your body's too old for that type of abuse. A golf cart might even be too much.
