Ok well i have installed the A&L Chassis stiffeners, I had to improvise a little, I did not realize the front had to be mounted to the inside of the nose tubes, I had them notched to let the stiffeners lay against the chassis sides. i just used a stainless nut to fill in the gap. If i installed them like i originally planned it the plates would be to fare apart to use the battery strap.

would it work better if you switched the nose tubes around from left to right? thet way the notch would be on the inside of the chassis then you could eliminate the nut. or would the braces still be too far apart?

Re: My 2012 Vonat Builds lol
Thanks guys,
I have a low cost brushless system on the way for testing, Its a off brand but the colors match the project lol, If they do not perform well i will move them to the shelf car and get a proper brushless system for the runner car. I have a new Futaba 3pm 2.4 radio i will be using for the runner also, Im not even sure where i got it from but it will work fine for my uses.

Yes, they are RPM B4 covers, You have to drill the motor plate for one of the mounting holes.aoH wrote:so clean!

Re: My 2012 Vonat Builds lol
I am planning another revision to my buggy, and was looking at a set of these stiffeners. I am worried the bullet style 96mm LiPo will not work though.
What type of LiPo are you going to run, and have you already test fit it?
thanks,
ED

Re: My 2012 Vonat Builds lol
I have a Venom 35C 7.4V 3800mAh 2S Hardcase LiPo and it fits pretty good, That is the highest mAh i could find that would fit under the top brace.
Dimensions: 23.3 x 46.75 x 137.85mm (0.92" x 1.84" x 5.43")
The battery is not pushed into the rear bulkhead, It will go in a little but its tight with the top brace on.

Thanks for the pictures.
It might be a tight fit, but I think with a bit of work I can fit my 3800 60C 96mm LiPo.
