yup, the australian seller, I'm getting tyres from him. The Baja body doesn't look like much more than a flat deck with headlights and a canopy... just covering the City battery box. rarity and beauty not the same thing and "in the eye of the beholder" i guess.
he's got complete zerda wheels (at a price) if you ask him.

Happy accident: I had some used mardave tyres in the spares box which almost fit hirobo city hubs but mardave hubs must have wider edges. Found some rubber strip in the shed that could be cut to fill the gap and made a nice snug fit. Should be good for a few hundred metres. Bodging rules!

Baby's got new shoes, a hat and a sister.

Tyres from australian ebay seller, bodyshell one of 4 for £16 UK ebay seller. At £4 quid a pop I won't mind a bit of damage.
The zerda is sporting the mardave tyres adapted to fit rockn city hubs.
I think the tyres will be for shelf wear and I'll run on the cheapo chinese wheel sets.
The bodyshell is mounted on aluminium brackets with some magnetic strip, a bit of fine tuning/fitting required and the four shells bought were two of this kind and two which look like a BMW body style.

I guess this might upset some purists, but here's the Rockn City in running condition. She's got her outdoor shoes on as the proper 'city' wheels are for best (shelf) wear.

The stickers are just that; inkjet printed on glossy label paper but not going to be run in the wet and I can print replacements etc easy peasy. The bodyshell and wing as said was 4 quid, the GV Beagle has similar from an ebay lot.

Some minor dabbling. A pair of new "city" wheels I got in a job lot of spares a while ago are fitted to a pair of the new tyres.
Abandoned my thoughts that NIP spares are more valuable/collectable that way. Still got some spare red inner rims and some beaten up outer rims if anyone's desperate.

Body doesn't suit the buggy. Too modern IMO.

eam Losi Mini 8IGHT Alloy Hex Adapter - 4pcs set - GPM M8010 (M8010)

Use these to use 12mm hex type wheels. Fit stock axles without modification.

I agree about the body but until a Vega at reasonable price turns up...the Hilux body was a bit naff even if it had survived. But I might have used one for authenticity. It was originally bought for zerda compatible spares. Ta for hex tip

Did a quick exchange of the chassis plate for a GRP one I got off eBay a while ago. Body shell still "an issue" as I don't see much I like better than the modern cheapo as per earlier pics.
Maybe a kyosho Optima? Which could also go on the GV Beagle.

I'm already thinking 44B on my side, as I have some parts of a chassis already. The 44B had 2 chassis length, and with the same length as the rock'n city, there was a Vega, a Lancia and a Baja bodyshell (all lexan).
I'm asking myself if this bodyshell could make for it : https://teambluegroove.com/products/vintage-lancia-037-rally-body-for-touring-car-xray-corally-losi
Otherwise the Vega bodyshell repro is available on TBG (https://teambluegroove.com/collections/hirobo/products/hirobo-rock-n-vega-city-44b-body-and-wing-vintage) but I guess you know that already :-)

As said in the postman thread, I have already some 44B parts...
Image

Normally I should start a thread for this, but I also said I won't create it until I start to tear down the Zerda I could not let you wait, so...

Started to model what I have, as it won't be a lost job in anycase...
Image

After the chassis plate and belt cover, I decided to start model the bath tub...
Image

Work is not over, but overal shape is already there...
Image

A few things remain to do (reinforcements, holes, supports and fixations)... But it already ongoing :-)

@threesheds , hope you don't mind if I hijack your thread :-)

I'm interested to see your work. CAD and 3d printing are out of my league. You'll know the battery box/bathtub is sectioned off in 3 compartments, mine has a screw in plate across the rear centre section, I use it as an Rx base. Also my battery box a bit damaged and missing cover.
If there's any parts you want pics and dimensions of let me know. I guess your into designing and printing up parts instead of buying available parts as you'll have seen some on eBay and FB pages.
Sure, share the thread.

I will create a thread, soon... Two 44B chassis (one SWB, one LWB) joined the crew today... I should be able to model all of this soon :-).
Image

I don't mind buying parts (when it's affordable), but modeling them ensure that there will be replacement in case there is no availability in the future... I feel it like a mission :-)

And you will see my work, for sure :-)
