Hehe, thanks. I think you're right though, the 2nd gen Pontiacs IMO are also the better looking 2nd gen. 8) Might just be the bias speaking, though.

Anyway, heres another little update.. Pardon the messiness..

Well, it's nearing completion now. Finally got the main tub sandblasted and powdercoated. I took the time to install the front end, steering and the rear suspension.

Just waiting on some new front shocks, and some diff gear rings (one was fractured ) from Tower. I also need to make a run to the LHS to pick up some bearings for the RT side rear carrier.

Yes, I missed cleaning out one of the holes, see if you can find it.

And here is what it looked like before. One of the only things I wish I didn't have to dye was the rear shock tower, but that's ok I guess. It looks good.

did you consider glass-coating the polished stuff?
( the kind of colourless varnish they use for stairtreds etc. Pretty sturdy.)

Anyway I actually like the colour you picked better than chrome, so you hav my vote for doing right.

What was the problem with the new shocks and which brand are they?

Well, I could also have clear powdercoated, but I figured if I was going to go through the trouble of powdercoating it, I was going to do a different color.

Not to mention, I felt the polished look was going to be too bright.

I've never heard of glass-coating, though.

The shocks I originally bought for the front were the Duratrax Evader BX shocks. While I know they are far from the build quality of the AE shocks, I wanted something quick and easy to put on the truck. Since they are pre-assembled, it made it an obvious choice. When I ordered them from Tower, I didn't realize they were different, and a tad shorter. I figured they would still work, but probably lower the truck a little bit. I'm sure with a little finessing I could get them to fit properly, but I figured since they were only $15 I'd just order the correct ones and be done with it, and throw the other ones in my RC parts box.

Probably the last update for awhile...

More important things need money spent on them... (Such as the Trans Am :-P) So I won't be putting any more money towards it for awhile (not to mention I blew my RC budget with the purchase of my Revo )

Still have a few minor adjustments to make (mostly with the turnbuckles) need to get the slipper installed, find a CF transmission brace. I still want to change the wheels/tires, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon. :)

I'm sure you can make your own brace with some scrap.
It would be nice to have one in the same color as the chassis (hint, hint)

Thanks guys.

I never thought about making a brace for the transmission out of aluminum, I just might do that!

As far as the Losi's, how did you know that's what they were? I do actually plan on changing them, I wanted some Pro-Line Gladiators for it, but my LHS doesn't stock them all the time.
