I think I will sell my XXX-CR to help fund it, althought I wont get that much for it. Its only siting in its box doing nothing, and I dont have any plans to rebuild it.
On the subject of the ISTC events - the 98 event in Southshields seems to have been recognised by IFMAR (if you believe Wiki) But the event I attended was the ISTC at Alexandra Palace, London (in presumably 97?) - or was that something else altogether?
I think the SW was released in 98 and the IWC was tested in the mags mid-99 (I happened to read that article again this morning in a location I'll just let you guess )... so that 97 race is probably not it

Life is short. Waste it wisely.
I just did a search in the Losi section and there is barely any XX4 rebuilds posted Kinda adds to the motivation to do one! My only trouble is that I must now search the bay for more Trinity blue parts!
I dont want to be the party pupper But I built 2 of these cars and sold them both. I didnt like them at all. I have 2 Losi XXX-s's also and not real fond of them either. this is just 2 cents I wont own another Belt drive car. the brushless 10.5 in my xx4 you could hear the belt slipping 75 feet away. and yes it was adjusted right, they strech and slip. I have tried RS4MT also didnt like the belt in that one either. you know I love my Losi's but they should build a shaft drive, but the real turn off is changeing the belt. its like starting over with a NIB kit. thats almost how far you have to take it apart just to change the belt, and evey time you have to change the pullys or they will eat the new belt. plus after going through that if the belt is dryrotten and you dont catch it, they explode on the first pull of the trigger. they didnt think of maintance at all when they designed these nightmares.
Party pooper indeed! It's strange as I raced my xx4 with a 5.5 brushless and had no issues at all. They designed that car around weight distribution, the belt layout was an after thought really.
I have happy memories of my first XX4, although the transmission was quite high drag, the handling was awesome.
Some parts have arrived in the post today, both pieces .....
At our little backyard track, we don't have shelf queens. If it is capable of running it will run. One of my old race buddies and Brother has an original XX that I am sure is just sitting on a shelf/box somewhere around his house. If parts are...

Most parts are available, except diff gears. They are a bit rare to come by, don't slip the diff. Stuff like the the bumpers that wear fast or front arms that break often, tend to be higher in price to replace.
How hard is it to find RC10DS front end parts? The AE database still lists front bulkheads (front suspension mounts) but does not list the front arms. Other items are interchangeable with the original RC10 and are still available (30 degree caster...

it's all different, the front bulkhead blocks, shock tower, shocks, a arms and there are little shock mounting parts on the a arms, and the spindles are a little different but I think a standard spindle assembly would work. I have a NDS that is next...
I'm strangely drawn toward this XX4 I picked up. I've decided to build it as a runner and see how these old 4x4's hold up. The design and engineering of these cars is really cool and there seems to be no end to the praise these things receive from...

Well, it's decision time for the XX4. Keep it or sell it time. I have to say, I really like design and engineering that went behind this car. Nothing seems like an afterthought. I didn't see any obvious weak links while building it. Appearance wise,...
Hi guys. I wonder if someone has seen XX4 somewhere in a shop..ebay..or somewhere. I am looking for them.

I might have a few sheets, but I paid a lot of money for them.
Why can't people today replicate the fluro colours, properly?
All the replicas look like a$s
I built this XX4 for a friend. I wasn't too concerned about having era correct equipment, but I loosely based it on something you may see in the early 2000's. I mostly just built it to what I thought looked nice.
Here goes my first XX4 build. I recently bought Shoman24v's beautiful XX4. I have long since admired this build, and could not resist the chance to own it. It is a nearly all new build.
However, after I received it I decided it had to have all the...

the only thing with the older buggy, is to work on them it a lot longer then the new buggy
Have always wanted one of these but never got around to buying one. This one popped up in the bst so i snatched it up. Needs at least the side belt that i can see and a body. I will try and locate a new chassis and some wheels and tires and switch...
After this, there is nothing left (Losi) on the project table. Just missing some orange front springs of which I just bought today (thought I had some).

Nice looing buggy, you should race that, but it'd also look good as a shelf queen :!:
