Decided to strip them, soak them in some brake fluid overnight.
Rit Dye royal blue, might have simmer a bit too long.

I found these by googling. Good to get rid of the insulation he had in there.

Why all the fuss with case hardened steel gears?
Aluminum, cast steel, case hardened steel. (Standard on Inferno)
Aluminum pinion gear mounted on a steel shaft has 1mm of play. Dual motors wouldn't have lasted too long.

Re: Double,Double trouble!
Latest update, 1st time powder coating bought the Eastwood kit and powder off ebay.
Candy blue.
I was all set to buy an electric oven off craiglist, but I really don't have the space for it. Screw it.
Took a chance and used my gas oven, no problems I think the only way to cause a problem is if you dropped a part and cause the powder to seperate into a cloud, highly unlikely.
Changed out servo's to Futaba S9302 and S9301, add another front disc brake. (4 total) Detail the motors.

Re: Double,Double trouble!
Poor truck was feeling a bit underpowered compare to the new truck, so I thought I'd give it an upgrade.

Re: Double,Double trouble!
Do you have any pictures or movies of them running? They must have a nice sound and tear up the ground.

Re: Double,Double trouble!
Sorry no video or pictures of them running, but I'm going to have to break in the new motors and will get a video then, but I need to built a roll cage and wheelie bar somehow.
I did some more upgrades finished for now.
Redone in CF.
Smaller fuel tanks.

And yes, a video would be awesome! Nice trucks you have there.

Re: Double,Double trouble!
Thanks, Yes I did run it quite a lot back in the days, was pretty fast with the O.S RXB .21's I believe rated at 2.2 hp. These are .28 rated at 3.8 hp each so will be a monster for sure!

Re: Double,Double trouble!
Getting closer new fuel arrived Torco 30%, also Duratrax flashpoint temp gauge to heat cycle the new motors. Roll cage finish $7 worth of solid delrin rods 10 ft 5/16 or 8mm, PIA to work with, screwed and set with por15 plastic patch I had. Very strong should be good to go!

Re: Double,Double trouble!
No idea what to say.
You do some awesome work. I thought my Ten-T with some upgrades was cool , and it runs very well.
But this is so far beyond that. I am in awe. More details and some background story? Pics?
How freakin cool is that!

Those are two of the baddest, most intimidating monsters I've ever seen. I don't know the first thing about nitro, but can easily tell that you've invested a king's ransom into those. Fantastic detail and color everywhere! Great job man!
My son... ask for thyself another kingdom... for that which I leave is too small for thee.
