My Turbo Raid LOVES LIPO. I have a 4,200 and 4,600 mah shorty LIPO battery and they fit perfect (after a little help from my Dremel tool. As the Raider's motor is on the left of the car though, the car was really unbalanced if I put the shorty LIPO in the center of the car. With the LIPO on the right side of the battery tray, the weight balance is just about perfect (I bet better than stock)!
Also, there is the perfect place to put a screw in the battery tray (looks like for some reason the plastic is molded for one). I put a screw in the hole with a small plastic bushing around and it keeps the battery exactly where it should be (perfectly aligned on the right side of the tray.
A big bonus is the battery is much lighter than the old school batteries from the 80s. The car was already light.... but she is a happy car now and rips pretty good!
