RC10 Chassis Sale

Post by Tamlok »

Saw this browsing the Associated Web Special page. $20 seems like a good deal.

A bargain for sure! What's interesting is that it's black yet it's not for the World's car. Was AE thinking of re-releasing another classic but then changed their minds?
Anyway, it's disappointing to see so many classic parts either out of stock or discontinued. The re-re era is over.

When the classic came out, there were supposed to be optional black parts. The nose plates were supposed to be the old squared off style like the classic. There were even pictures of it. But if you ordered one, they came cut like the Worlds. Then the Worlds car came out.

Yeah I got three boxes of stuff. 6 chassis, 14 1.02 shock sets, 6 sets of 1.32 blue bodies and a box full of GT stuff. Gotta get it while you can, it will be gone soon. They don’t even sell the damn shock rebuilds anymore and you have to know those are a hot seller.

My only consolation is knowing there are two NOS RC10s at a local hobby shop which no one here seems interested in, and which I could probably pick up at any time if I wanted to.

Really no interest? How much do they want.

I've ordered a few things -- probably half a box. I've resisted the temptation to stock up.
The problem I have buying clearance sale stuff like this that I'll probably never use them. I know that they'll never be available again so they'll tend to stay in the package.
Anyway, when the boxes of new parts are empty, we'll be back to scrounging for parts from wherever we can find them.

You want that in peysows?

Kidding aside, I bought from them an assembled but never run Team Car, with Futaba electronics and a Reedy stock motor for US$300, and an assembled but never run CE with NO electronics, with Reedy stock motor, the body already painted, for US$150.
Both with box, manuals etc.

He has another CE with Futaba gear (MSC), and another Team Car with no electronics. He was asking $250 and $200 for these I believe, but the bodies he has for them now aren’t as in good condition (since I took the better ones), and I don’t think he has any more vintage motors left. So he may have to let them go for less.

I’m saving up (actually waiting for my guilt to go away from the money I’ve been spending on RC lately) before I head over and try to haggle for the other two cars.

Every time I try to get on to it to place my order it keeps reading 500 internal error and its been logged on and they have been notified of the issue. Been happening for a few days for me. Tried going at it from multiple ways but always the same issue...
