Hi.
Does anyone have info or pictures of the KO DigiACE ESC, from the early 80's? Any info or pictures would be great.

Ko made many ESCs in 80's. Do You have any more info e.g. could the ESC name something like RM7 or CX# ?

I´m talking about the one I belive was the very first, around 1982. Was released about the same time as the Acoms AP35.

Yes, we're getting close Jirka, but I believe the one I'm looking for is even older...

This crappy old picture is the only one I could find of it.

It was supposed to be THE esc to have for 1/10 competition buggies back in 1982, so people who raced back then should remember it :?:

Thanks, we're definitely getting closer, but the one I'm looking for is even earlier I suppose, and have a separate reverse relay. It does, like the one in Incredible_Serious' link, take the same optional dynamic brake adjuster, so it's probably from the same "series".

Here are some of the specs:

Well, I started offroad racing in 1985. Also was using my own ESCs back in the days. I´m not sure for 1982 but usually all of KO´s ESCs were using RM7 as part of the name. I have to search through my archives if I can find something.

OK this is a picture from my ESC database but I know there were others looking exactly the same large case but different type. But in general, KO Propo ESC looking like this were their first generation.
Regarding RM7, RM means Racing Max. Digiace is a name what was used by KO Propo for some of their radios/transmitters but I think not for their ESCs.

Early KO ESCs were Turbo type, I think maybe all of them until they released their first FET ESC. Turbo means there is a relay used what bypasses the transistor at full throttle position. In Europe I think those KO ESC were not really used.

Thanks for the info!

Yes I'm sure the one I'm looking for has a buypass relay for full speed.
I do believe these were used in Europe, as the only little info I have about it is from a Norwegian magazine from mid 1982, that stated they were very popular among the racers.
