TRINITY KINWALD MOTORS

Post by FasterLouder »

I've got three Trinity Kinwald motors-one has a white can, with 'Kinwald' written in yellow and 'The Dirtinator' in small print under the 'Kinwald'.
I have a red Dirtinator motor, the 'Kinwald' is again in yellow and I just picked up a cherry Trinity Kinwald motor-this one's a little different.
White label, green 'Kinwald' script, but instead of 'Dirtinator' it has 'World Champion R/C Dirty Tricks' under the 'Kinwald' script...I like that.

Does anyone know what winds these motors came in,when they were produced, any advertising for them,or how to ID a motor's wind by looking at the armature winds and counting them?

I dig 'em. :D
I have one in my XX CR Kinwald, one in my XXT CR Graphite and one looking for a home in one of my vintage Losi'.

I'm always looking for Losi Revolution motors-I have managed to score three so far.
A red stock motor in my JRXT,and two yellow label ones, one in my JRX2 and the other in my Junior 2.
Tough to find,though,man.

I'd REALLY like a white label Revolution motor for my Junior T (White rims, white RPM spur cover...White motor?!)

hi mate! nice collection you have  i know the red kinwald's came out in 95ish, check for an epoxy balanced armature and in turns 9-15. i think your other 2 were earlier model's don't quote me though. the motor you want for a xx kinwald is a dirtinator d2 which has brian's pic on it(purple can) think i have a spare if you want to trade.

Hey fasterlouder, is that Rear blue Pivot block on you xxKW factory?? Who makes it? Trinity?
I do like those kinwald motors, the revolution motors I never ran so they have no recollection to me. I would like to find a speed jems Topaz motor, I still have my original but it looks like it has been thru a war.
Sleeps with a night light on, not because he's scared of the dark but because the dark is scared of him...........stay thirsty my friends

Yes,the rear alloy pivot block is made by Trinity.

I searched a long time for one,a few years ago and finally found a used one and paid US$60 for it.
I was going to put it in my XX CR Kinwald, but it was scratched,so I modified it to fit in my old XX4,like this.
Bought another XX4 and did the same mod.
It was tough taking a dremel to a nice, new, shiny pivot block and removing the front rib,so it would slide in there! 8)

As a matter of fact.........

I know something about them white Kinwalds :) They came in 1994 with the introduction of the Trinity 1700 World Tech SCRC racing cells. Was my favorite setup. They came in many winds and configurations so no way to know what yours is. My personal favorite was the 9 turn triple wet. I ran it in the car seen below which is a NIB reproduction of my winning truck in 1994 (I had to build another after how much fun I had).

So, no way to know what it is, but if it runs, I'll give ya $20 for it. :) Just because I like them. :)

Thanks for the info,One.
All of my Kinwald motors sing.
The comm, can and label conditions on this latest one is 10/10.
I have homes for all of mine, though I would trade one for a white label Revolution motor, like this?

There are a lot of motors I wanted to have, but never did back in the day. Unlike a collector however I generally won't have it unless I ran it. (fortunately I had most everything :D)

Motors like the MoTown Missle, Insane, and the Twister motors I did have and loved.
