sand scorcher reissue got a minor bug - built pics update
reissue was already realeased in Korea last week. the first batch was shipped to Korea prior to their domestic release
many of my local forum members got the kit. and some of them finished to build and found some bugs (defects) on the parts. 2 screws holes were miss-drilled on the chassis. and some more on F/R bumpers
Tamiya noticed these problems yesterday. and I got informed they will ship new parts ASAP
I think release date would be delayed. Tamiya is working on fixing the bugs
I'll get bunch of extra parts as they find more bugs on the bug.
[EDIT] I was infromed wrong. only the problem was rear bumper. I got replacement and put it on my bug

Re: sand scorcher reissue got bugs
Save those incorrect parts-- maybe even the whole kit. They may be worth a fortune in 25 years to some Korean kid whose first 'real r/c' was a 2010 Scorcher re-release.
Flash-forward....
"I remember being 8 and waiting for what seemed like weeks for the replacement parts for my Tamiya to show up. My dad and I drilled out the parts and used them anyway. I'd love to have one of those mis-made first NIB kits for my shelf now. Did I mention that I am now the CEO of an international firm and can pay any price?"

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Re: sand scorcher reissue got a minor bug - built pics update
Is there any way to tell from the box such as serial #s or other clues as to which batch I may have? I have kept it in the plastic to give to my son 15 years from now and I would like to at least have the correct part. If not I might I just buy a newer one to be sure.
The Fox, Falcon, 9 RC10s black/gold/graph, Optima Mid SE EXT, Losi XXXT, B3, B4, 3 T4s, Evader BX, Evader ST, Buggy Champ '09, Sand Scorcher '10, RC10T, RC10DS
