I have a set of those rear Losi tires, brand new, sitting inside my toolbox.
Does anyone know what they were called?

It makes you wonder if this car has survived or gotten used up and taken apart. Just think of someone digging this out of a box in the basement and having it show up in e-bay! Kinda makes you salivate at the thought.

The RC10T arms remind me of SIebenelche's Vitec.
Just got my rcca collection back... hopefully it's got this issue still

mid engine conversions for associated cars have been around since the late 80's. mostly in dirt oval racing, but it's nothing new.

I remember seeing prototype Losi mid-engine car online somewhere but I can't seem to find it. Apparently it wasn't successful enough to produce? Anyone else ever see it? It was a 2WD off road electric buggy-if my memory serves me it was at a nationals event and was somewhat hidden by a towel or something under a pit table. I think a Losi factory driver had it?

I think it was three years ago that (then) Losi UK team driver Ellis Stafford made his own mid engined XXX-BK (or whatever the current 2WD was back then). He drove it publically at Stotfold (an astroturf track) and it was awesome. The rumour is that Losi USA weren't interested in it and wouldn't let him race it. He left Losi soon after to race the X-Factory X-6 and hasn't looked back. Ellis dominated last year's 2WD UK national series.

I'd love to see some photos of that car! I think the mid-motor 2WD would be good for the high bite tracks we now have....

The article mentions a mid-engine ultima Joel Johnson made.
Did anyone ever see pics of this?
If someone could scan those please...

I know this is resurrecting an old post, but I just stumbled to it from another thread. Anyway, yes there is a XXX-mid. It is a conversion kit made by atomic carbon. Looks like a cool kit, albeit a little pricey for me. Find it here: http://atomic-carbon.gforceimages.net/cr2/index.html
