Pic from out my hobby room window. Track will be to the right of the sidewalk. Roughly 30' wide by 60-70' feet long. Now I just have to get my honey-do-list done before I can start on it.

Sweet! And 2k square feet less mowing too! Are you importing dirt or just using what you have? Or I guess we'll see won't we. 8)

I'm just gonna use what I have. I dont plan onhosting any ifmar races. PA does have good clay though if I dig down enough.

First thing I'm gonna do is lay it out and rent a sod cutter. That will speed up the process. The I'll go from there building jumps and stuff. I want it to be more old school..... big spikes and rooster tails.

Man, this is going to be so sweet!

Was just telling my wife I need to make my own RC track in the back yard, now I can say "see...everyone is doing it"

Look forward to the progress, have fun!
Back at again because of a phone call..."Hey, how do you adjust those old Novaks?"
I have a RC channel on YouTube too...take a look at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuAS9eDBj_wSIyl4JakUIzA Thanks :)

Well, I know where I'll be stopping during my visits to see my parents in Allentown. Those visits may need to become more frequent. :D

i figured you would ready to go.

looking at sod cutter rentals, the one local place has them for $70 for 4 hrs, $100 for a day. once i have the track mapped out, it shouldn't take long...... most likely be running on it by late afternoon if i get started early enough in the morning. no jumps or anything, but atleast driving on it. that stuff will come later.

then i'm gonna have to throw an rc10talk picnic or something once it's all done. :)

Sounds promising, very cool. I'll start prepping a car to run too! Don't worry it will take awhile :P

Nice!
Just run on the grass, that's what our old school tracks were! It'll save renting the sod cutter, get some old firehose out there to lay it out.
In fact some of our clubs still do, so many are still temporary and can't lay permanent tracks using astroturf or similar :)
