Pure-Tech battery Strap for RC10 and Losi...

Post by metallicats33 »

I don't know if this is old news or not but it's new news to me
I attended RCX this weekend and during my rounds I came across the Pure-Tech booth. I talked to
Dwayne about a Pure-Tech battery strap for the RC10 and he pulled this out:
Puretech.jpg
He had to make a new mold for the L shape blocks, the old mold got lost. He said they will be available in packs of two in about 1-2 months from http://puretechproducts.com/
And he also said if you don't see them on the site in that time, just send him an E-mail. I tried to buy the one he had there but he wouldn't sell it to me. Anyways... this is great, Now my battery options just got a bit better.

That's funny. I got a different story. He said the mold broke and they're having to get a new one which costs $4,000. Though, the timeline is the same, 1-2 months and they should be available.

Weird, I'm almost positive he told me the old one was lost... I could be wrong :?
Whatever the case, the good news is the new straps and mounts are on their way

EDIT: okay, my wife ( the all knowing  ) confirmed he said the mold was damaged. I must not of been paying attention. My bad

Great news! I hope they will be available in black so I can stop searching for the old style.

I asked about black and he said yes  He also said if you don't see a color you want just ask and he might be able to get it made.

You can check out http://puretechproducts.com/ but I didn't see the RC10 ones listed.
Just email Dwayne and let him know what you're looking for... he is very easy to deal with.

I spoke with Dwayne about 6 months ago. He was very nice and sold me a couple of his last straps, yellow and blue. He told me somthing about the mold being lost or broken. At the time he appeared to be on the fence about making more. Told me the mold cost $4,000 as well. It appears he descided to get the mold made and start making more rc10/jrx2 straps. I really like them and am glad he is making more!

I emailed him and he is going to be sending out an invoice for the strap.. Nice guy to deal with. I would rather deal with this instead of the crap battery tray.

I didn't see those straps on there site. So I just figured they were out or no longer availible. So I ordered these straps. Fit in the Tub chassis perfect. I might use a strip of velcro to sick on the underside of the battery pack to limit front to back movement. This set just sicks on so no drilling.
