Mystery Competition Model Works Parts? (Optima)
These look really cool, but I have no idea what they are or which car they are for? There is one other post on here that references CMW (Competition Model Works). The bag label on the back clearly has their Texas address. These all have belts with the gears halfs (two say 17.7 and one says 18). Could they be for the Optima? Thank you RC-10Talk sleuths for the help.

I have never stumped the RC10talk boards. Any guesses, should I take a pic of the backs? Thanks!

Looks like the kyosho case bolt pattern, I wonder if this was an alternative belt conversion for the optima? There was another kit for the stinger too, could be the reason for a different part number

That's along the lines of what I was thinking. I'll open one and take a picture of the back. I hadn't thought of the Optima/Stinger difference. The one with the 18 has larger gears, thanks for the post.

Didn't some Serpent cars use a similar system in the rear?

Re: Mystery Competition Model Works Parts? (Optima)
somehow I'm thinking these are for a chaindriven 4WD dirt oval
17.7 and 18 would be gear ratio's I guess
Take some more pics when you open them up. They kind of look like they might be useful for my long buried plans for a 4wd trackmaster transmission

I restarted a thread here:

They seem to be belt conversions for the Kyosho Optima.
