Re: Novak NESC-4 questions

The red black black receiver wire is very probably airtronics. I have a tekin with an airtronics pigtail.

I don't know the pinout by heart but red is power, one black is signal and the other is gnd. Lots of servo pinouts found online between all the brands.

Re: Novak NESC-4 questions

On the old Airtronics the pin out is: Red 6v; Black(middle) Gnd; Black (outside) Signal.

Re: Is this much spur gear/diff hub gap normal?

No, not normal.

That is an AE 32P spur gear but I have modern 48P Kimbrough gears that fit the same.

But you should be aware that there are spur gears with different hub diameters out there.

Re: Is this much spur gear/diff hub gap normal?

fwiw - I had a hub like yours bitd that was badly worn. I happened upon a short length of brass tube in one of my junk boxes that seemed to fit both parts perfectly so I cut it to proper length and CA-glued it to the hub and it's been doing fine ever since. Today it's in one of my frequent runners a...

Re: Is this much spur gear/diff hub gap normal?

As I said, you can try a Traxxas spur as well.

The center is close enough that it will still physically fit on a standard tube, but the fit is too tight for the diff to work.

Re: Gearing suggestion for Reedy Radon 2 19T, six-gear

This is from the RC10 Classic manual. It even has a 19T listed.

I'm about to put a 19T Radon in a six gear car. I planned on starting with 81/18, 48P gears.

Keep in mind that early RC10 tires are shorter than modern 2.2 tires, changing the effective gearing.
