Re: Alex B's WCS 1989 build

The bumper is homemade from 3mm 'kydex' I used a heat gun and wooden spoon handle to achieve the bend. It is grey because I ordered white kydex sheet but was sent grey, either that or I'm colour blind . I've used a nylon bulkhead for mock up purposes but I'm waiting on some FAN RC aluminium o...

Re: Alex B's WCS 1989 build

For this build I will be using original Yokomo parts where I have them, in the case of the front and rear shock towers I managed to get a NIB ZC-710S front tower, the rear is one I ran on my original 870c back in the day, which from recollection was a genuine Yokomo part. As you can see from the pho...

Re: Alex B's WCS 1989 build

Shocks are vintage associated 0.71 for the front and 1.02 for the rear. I only had some blue anodized shock caps in the parts bin so these were given a quick rub down then primed using Tamiya plastic primer and them painted with a Tamiya black. The white plastic parts are from FAN RC, but I've since...

And the correct wing mounts from Fan RC, again excellent quality. These are available direct through Fan on Facebook or L&L Models in the UK and Rubrix Racing Products in the US.

Please excuse the dust...

Alex B's WCS 1989 build

In keeping with tradition I'm making a thread on my latest Yokomo build, thanks to the work of Cheng Fan's amazing reproduction parts, some new old stock Yokomo parts, some old parts including some that I actually used in my 870c as a child from the Alex B parts bin, MCI racing, penguin bodies and s...

Re: 93 WCS replica…..M3 belt lengths and pulleys?

For the rear - any of the ZC pulleys from 870c to the works cars as it uses the older outdrives.

For the front - YZ-10 pulley as the diff outdrives will be different, I think that MX/MR 4 pulleys will work.

Re: Yokomo MR4-BC and MR4-BC special builds

Electric install. 8.5 brushless motor Lipo battery. El cheapo 'blue' ESC £14 off eBay. KO FET servo I had lying around and a 2.4 GHZ receiver. I have given it a couple of runs and it handles great, on the first run I had an issue with the rear diff screw breaking but no problems after that. The slip...

Re: Yokomo MR4-BC and MR4-BC special builds

I thought I'd update this project. The second build is going to be a bit of an MX-4, MR4-BC, MR4-TC MR4-BX mix up build. I'm I'm using a front bulkhead cap from the MX4 and the slipper assembly the front and rear shock towers and camber link, a MR4-TC front one way, MR4-BX shocks, JC racing wheels a...

Re: Yokomo MR4-BC and MR4-BC special builds

Got a little bit done last night on the rear of the MR4-BC, the pictures below show the parts needed for the LWB conversion. I found the right plastic spacers in my parts bin and the rear inner hinger pins are the standard items. You will need to put a hinge pin retaining screw on the front side of ...
