Help With Rear Axles Pre B2

Post by Synergy »

Hello learned members,

I just don’t seem to be able to make sense of any threads I can find on rear axle sizes for pre B2 cars.

Would anyone kindly educate me on the different axel sizes, which models came with 1/4 and which came with 3/16 and are there any difference within those parameters such as tapers etc?

Thank you.

Everything had 1/4' axles up to the t2. The team version had 3/16", the sport (bushing kits) had 1/4". Same deal the b2 and b3. Team, 3/16"... sport, 1/4".

Thank you Jason, so everything up to and including the B2 had 1/4 and then after that when the T2 was released it became mixed as you describe above because that’s what I though?

So is a B2 like the one I have what would be considered a Team car even though it doesn’t say it on the box like my T3 kit....
Because it doesn’t say sport. Or are there 3 versions ?
I mean yes of course I know because of what parts it comes with as well ....

That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

the 25 yr thread shows three kits for b2

https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=13059

if you have 1/4" axles, it 'should' have been a sport kit

So then yes, even though it’s considered a Team it doesn’t actually say it on the box.
