If it's discontinued you have to treat looking for it like an original, with potentially more of them around. Buggies shouldn't be a problem, but you will likely need a backing color.
All of the blue on this truck was a single Tamiya can, but it was backed in another color.

Per Tamiya, the 100ml can is sized specifically to coat one complete model. I tend to use more when doing pan car bodies, but less when doing buggies.
