Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Thank you....I got it done. Ordered a pair of snap ring pliers last night on Amazon and they showed up today. Took 2 seconds with the right tool. I had forgotten what a royal PITA the fastners are on the RC10....C-clips, E-clips, and roll pins! Would it have killed AE to throw in a few extras the wa...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

I'm a few steps into my build when I came to the transmission. One of the few tools I don't have are snap-ring pliers. I'm probably going to grab a set later, but just curious if there's a trick to installing snap-rings (c-clips) without them? Thanks in advance.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

FWIW, I like my 40th just as it is. The nylon is nice and white, the anno is brilliant gold/orange and the zinc and black oxide plated parts look good as well. The rest of my RC10 collection is old, the anno is faded and the nylon looks dingy by comparison and some of them have been peroxide treate...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

As I've gotten closer to actually opening bags and starting my build, I've considered not using any of the AE supplied plastic parts or transmission and instead going with the FAN RC plastic set which I feel is much closer to the original RC10 nylon color. But after starting down this rabbit hole, ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Are you guys cutting out the body and then painting it, or painting it first, and then cutting it out? Is there a benefit one way or the other? https://i.imgur.com/V3s6DGw.jpg I noticed Andy's sells his painted first, or not cut out. I had Andy's paint my 40th body. I hate and am terrible at trimmi...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

A vintage Novak or Tekin ESC and a vintage brushed motor would look best on the shelf and would be fine for occasional runs. For brand new motor and ESC, the Hobbywing 1060 and 1080 ESCs are good values. The Reedy Radon 2 19T would give good performance and look nice in thd buggy. 19t appears to be...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

That will be a nice build! How frequent of runner are you planning to make it? A brushed motor requires some periodic maintenance (cleaning, brushes, etc) and some attention to limiting the run time to prevent overheating. Probably some very infrequent and very light running. Will be on a shelf mos...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Got my kit on May 3rd, but have been waiting for my box art body from Andy's, which just came a few minutes ago. Now I feel like I can start the build, although I still need to decide on electronics. Any advice? I feel like brushed is the way to go with an RC10. Any tips for a motor / esc combo, and...

They do but it's the same one as JConcepts, which is not the same as the 6155 proline body.

RC10GT Factory Team - just pulled out of stoage

Since my kids are at the age where they're interested in RC cars, it has reignited the interest for me as well. I went to my storage unit and unearthed my RC10GT Factory Team that I had not seen in about 15 years. I completely disassembled, cleaned and reassembled it. It looks great and has minimal ...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

What REALLY would have been cool is to have serialized the manuals to the chassis numbers... Just thinkin' out loud  ->Mark 1000010778.png What really would be cool is if there was a manual available at all! Surprised there's nothing posted with people starting to receive their kits!

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary

Anybody that ordered on AE’s website….is your order showing in your order history? Mine is not, although I have the order confirmation email. I reached out to customer service and they said that they indeed have my order, but it still makes me nervous. Same here. I was worried that I got scammed si...
